In September 2023, John Brown University my first ever gallery called ‘Arid.’ The gallery consisted of graphic design, digital illustration, animation, photography, sculpture, a supplemental 5-track EP, and a published screenplay.
The gallery was open from September 1 to September 18 in JBU’s student gallery space.

THE OPENING
On September 1, 2023, ‘Arid’ opened to the public at John Brown University. Along with the gallery opening, I also debuted the EP of the same name that was made in collaboration with producer Jake’s Balloon. DJ 4:12 and I performed the project to the attendants of the opening.
In addition, I also wrote and published a screenplay that coincided with the story of the gallery work and EP. I handed out copies of the book at the gallery to those who wanted to continue the experience beyond the evening.
The opening was so special for me as this gallery was inspired by all the things that I had been learning over the past year and a half of working on it. A lot of growth and change happened through the process of creating this gallery experience and this evening got to be a testament to that.
The work
The pieces in the gallery were heavily inspired by mid-century modern design and illustration. Through mediums of photography, screenprinting, illustration, and animation, I was able to bring ‘Arid’ to life.
